Just a few days ago we announced the rename of Zood and with that announcement we promised we’d publish a blog with a bit more information concerning the change. We hope this will clear up any questions you may have and provide you with a look into the things that have taken place since we set out to change the world early last year.
In case you missed the announcement, find it here.
When Zood started to take shape earlier last year we were approached by several individuals who took interest in the product and wanted to take part by investing in our endeavors. One in particularly stood out from the crowd and talks ensued. We were anxious to start building the product which at the time still did not have a name. This particular investor offered a very tasty trade as part of the terms we were discussing that included the Zood domain that would be valued as a cash investment.
As the team began to develop the site, service and brand, the talks continued to take place. We were very excited to see the positive response when we introduced the idea to the public and after our first mini-BETA for the Zood mailbox in September. Shortly after, the talks between Zood and this investor began to fade as his responsibilities grew elsewhere. We painstakingly continued work on Zood and decided that with such a delicate situation taking place, it would be best to keep the lid tight on announcements, screenshots, development blogs and marketing.
The new year was approaching and we knew that as small company with limited resources, it would be impossible to make a reasonable counteroffer for the Zood domain. We spent weeks discussing the situation and made lists upon lists of potential domain ideas before reaching a decision to move forward with our product under the name of Klydo. Klydo is a domain that Greg Cooper has owned for quite some time now and without getting into too much detail, it was a wise decision to preserve the very essence of our service.
Most importantly, moving from Zood to Klydo was necessary for us to bring the BETA to you. Until we were able to secure a thing as important as our domain, opening the site for BETA use would be premature and unwise. In addition, we are now able to unveil things on a regular basis and openly discuss the ongoing development of Klydo. We know this is an area that has been lacking and we are looking to make it up to you with several back-to-back screenshots of some really neat features we’ve been polishing for the past few months. Lastly, now that we have secured a domain and company name, we are able to reach out to investors and actively promote our product.
The Klydo team is very appreciative of your ongoing support and we are excited to start pulling the curtains back on some of the features that make our service a step above the rest and what we believe will leave you hungry for more. We hope you can stomach this change of pace and our renewed commitment to keeping you in the loop as we very quickly progress toward an open BETA in the coming months.
Yours Truly,
The Klydo Team
